It's not a bad thing to wait until the next day to do dishes, amirite?

When you live alone, just do you. When sharing gets complicated

I don't live alone but I'm the only one who actively does them lol

Yeah my mom acts like it's the most disgusting thing in the world for me to occasionally leave the supper plates and utensils for the morning. My job can have a wonky schedule due to events so I am often only eating my dinner at 8pm and sometimes I am just too tired. I spritz them with pre-wash and do them in the morning and I think it's fine.

Aslong as you clean as you go when cooking food and it's just the dishes why does it matter when it's done. If I make a sandwich on a plate I'll brush off the crumbs and make my evening meal with the same plate. Two for one deal 😂

If you have downtime while you're cooking, wash a few dishes, but otherwise I completely agree

I might wash things as I go along, or at least place them in the dishwasher. But I am not hopping up right after I finish dinner to make sure everything is clean. It can wait. My only issue is that in the summer I get tiny little ants. I live in a heavily wooded area. So it is kind of inevitable. I cannot leave anything remotely edible on the counter or sink.

I have lived without a dishwasher up until about 5 years ago. I would have had to redo our kitchen at the time to fit one in. Now I moved into a duplex. Besides GPS, the dishwasher is the most wonderful invention ever.

Yeah, I agree. My boyfriend and his family always cook at night, and clean up the kitchen in the morning. Leaves evening time for relaxing and good times.

If you like bugs I feel you…
I guess I'll also allow for it if you have a snake or something that you're too broke to feed so you need to accumulate the food (bugs) in a cheap way.

It depends on what it is
If it's something that'll start to smell or get really stuck on, just do them right away
But if it's not either of those, and you dont need the dishes until after tomorrow, then sure, it can wait
by Anonymous2 years ago
It depends for me.
If I'm overly exhausted I'll leave it until the next day, depending on what I cook I may leave some pots/pans in soak.
If I'm a little tired I'll wash everything but will leave it to air dry on the drain.
If I'm not feeling too bad I'll wash and dry everything the same day.

If I know its a hard-to-remove stain I'll leave them in soapy water. But I generally leave them for the next day as I load the dishwasher in the morning.

Up to you but done immediately, or best bits of it done during the cooking process, is a lot easier. At least rinse and stack them. Otherwise you are soaking and scrubbing things the next day.

I agree with this though.. I'll rinse everything and make sure anything that is soaking is soaking, everything that can go in the dishwasher does, and I'll wash everything after it soaks overnight. I haven't gotten bugs attracted to the soapy water in the sink yet, if that changes my mind might too.

Most of the time I leave it until the next day. I just let everything soak in water with washing up liquid. It usually loosens anything tough. In fact, I rarely have to do any scrubbing due to this method. Just mainly drying.

No it's not, but I cannot stand having dirty dishes laying around so I waat all my dishes as soon as I'm done with them.

Be quiet. All the neat freaks are coming out.

Let them cum
by Anonymous2 years ago
Ugh yes exactly. Like not everyone has the convenience of a dishwasher. And some people want a break after cooking an entire meal.
by Anonymous2 years ago
i'm not a neat freak, but leaving out cockrock, ant, etc bait out seems silly. if they are soaking in water, i guess that ok but just left out, no.
