+164 Thinking in terms of "How would you feel about the life you lived if you were to die today or tomorrow?" isn't good! amirite?

Definitely an unpopular opinion, and one that I think says more about you than about it. It's an important reminder to be present in your life and to not take tomorrow for granted. There won't ALWAYS be another tomorrow, so remember to take time to enjoy it and try to make the most of it and don't do bad things now with the idea being you'll clean up the ledger later. A personal anecdote that relates: when I was in middle school, my mom went over to visit with my grandfather one evening. He wasn't sick or anything and she'd usually go up to see him at least once a week, about a 10 minute drive. She asked me if I wanted to go with her. One of my favorite episodes of the Simpsons was on, so I said no. He had an unexpected heart attack and died that night. I've felt guilt and shame about not going up to see him that night ever since.

Saying thank you or I love you isn't going to make me happy about how I lived my life up to this moment and I can't make my life something to proud of in under a day.
