+135 Internet pranksters are no different than shows like Impractical Jokers, amirite?

i think people who are being pranked on shows that are on tv like impractical jokers have to sign something in order for the show to like show their face. do youtubers have to do that too? i dont ever watch that kind of stuff on yt so i have no idea. that might be what is upsetting to people. not being able to give or deny permission to show their face.

The larger internet prank videos are also fake. They don't actually secretly spend all night in the store or wherever else. They get permission from the store to stay after closing time. They don't actually put people into precarious situations without warning. They hire them, and then tell them to go "that direction" where eventually someone jumps out at them or something. Smaller channels that don't understand these pranks are staged then try to emulate what the larger ones do, only they do it for real, and it leads to problems.

This is the first time I've heard of that "Impractical Jokers" show.

It's been on tv for over 10 years so it's pretty popular

Maybe it's because I'm not from the US, but I honestly hadn't heard of it until now. Is the show only about making pranks?

by Anonymous 2 years ago

Yes it's about public pranks. They often do things that aren't harmful and do embarrass themselves more like having to give speech's and the friends tell them what to say. But because it's so popular I never see anyone complain about it like they do with people who do it on the internet.

Oh, sounds boring. Is it real, though? They do real pranks on pedestrians or is it acted?

I've never heard of Impractical Jokers. Regardless, people who do pranks on strangers are very annoying.

Very few impractical joker pranks seem as malicious as some YouTubers. Also it could be the vibe in a lot of YouTube videos the stranger is the butt of the joke. On the show it's usually wholesome and cute.

I don't watch it a lot, but I enjoy impractical jokers. the episodes where they mess with people seem to be quite few and far between, while internet pranksters are almost always at another person's expense, rarely, if ever making themselves the butt of the joke.

I think the difference is production quality, organization and having an actual humour (IJ are actually funny)
