+143 Leaf blowers are 100 times more annoying than a buildup of dead leaves and they should be banned from residential areas, amirite?

Dead leaves can start fires, cause infestation, and kill your lawn.

> Dead leaves can start fires, They just rot, and add nutrients to the soil.

I just mow them along with the grass

Sometimes dead leaves can pile up and make surfaces slippery. I personally just sweep the leaves up instead of using a blower but I'd rather not fall on my ass

There used to be this tool called *a rake*. This was in paleolithic times, I doubt anyone has seen one since ancient Mesopotamia.

I agree that leaf blowers can be incredibly annoying, but completely banning them from residential areas might not be the best solution. Instead, there could be regulations put in place for when they can be used and noise limits enforced. That way, people who need to use leaf blowers for their jobs or for large properties can still use them while minimizing disturbance to others.

The real problem is the 2 stroke engines put out horrible pollution. They should be banned for the safety of gardeners in favor of electric ones, rakes, or little riding leaf vacuums that suck up leaves.

>there could be regulations put in place for when they can be used and noise limits enforced. Most cities have a noise ordinance

for me the annoyance from 2-stroke leaf blowers comes from the constant back and forth between idling and full-rev. vroom! vroom vroom! vrooooom!! whereas a lawnmower is at more or less a constant RPM while in use. electric leaf blowers are sooooo much less annoying sound-wise. but i also hate how people with leaf blowers blow dust all over people passing by. one time i went to a store and i had to wait a minute to get out of my car because a guy was blowing leaves and dust all over it. and i've ridden my bike through countless dust clouds caused by leaf blowers.

A few leaves is a mild inconvenience. A lot of leaves will smother the lawn and breed insects. You'll have a mud pit after a few years.

Using a rake is more physically demanding than using a leaf blower, and lawnmowers are louder. Wear earplugs

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I'd add, the exercise from raking leaves is really good for most of us.

I have 15 large trees. Racking would be a full time job for 2 months every year.

It'd be problematic for anyone with back issues, or those who don't use a good technique.

Leaf blowers are awesome and I bet your yard look like poop. They aren't any worse than a lawn mower. If the neighbors aren't running them at the ass crack of dawn then let it go. Also if you don't blow away the leaves say goodbye to your sidewalks, porches, gutters.

Then let's schedule a time YOU can come over and rake up YOUR leaves from MY yard.

I kinda love the sound of leaf blowers it reminds me of my fan.

We use it to get the grass clippings off the driveways and road. Takes 10 minutes at most. You'll live.

Squidward just doesn't know how to have fun.

You probably don't have one so you complain about them.

Yes... Let's let the landscapers rake instead of leaf blowing . It's just unrealistic to think that you're gonna make landscapers rake leaves. They would all go out of business.

OP seems like a child that has never done lawn work lol

Toroidal shaped blades would decrease that annoyance.

I'm legally liable if someone slips on wet leaves on the sidewalk Infront of my house.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You never worked landscaping before .

Dead leaves clog drains and cause flooding in wetter areas

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I've never seen leaf blowers used for leaves. Usually it's for blowing grass clippings off the street and sidewalks.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I get it. Thing is, dead leaves can ruin your lawn if left unchecked. They can also clog up drains. End of the day, it's typically a necessary evil.

Today I learned that leaves can access the internet.

The only reason most have gas ones is because the electric ones aren't powerful enough for heavy snow falls.

I use a leafblower to cool off when I'm to lazy to go inside from my tool shed it's a long walk
