+140 Combining pasta shapes is good, amirite?

by Anonymous 11 months ago

Im not scared to admit I hate this, and I'll go a step further and admit I have to have the right shape pasta for my sauce, regardless of how real Italians feel about it.

Who exactly is fighting you over this? Absolutely no one cares how you eat your pasta.

This is what I prefer to call an obscure opinion It's only unpopular because noone cares enough to agree or disagree with it, it's rarely talked about and therefore technically unpopular

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's only unpopular if it's talked about.

Hard disagree tbh, can't really be arsed arguing it tho so agree to disagree ig

Choices speak as loud as words. Nobody's arguing about it but if every time you open your cupboard and choose to cook one thing rather than another, you're expressing an opinion.

Bowties or bust

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Tbh I don't really understand bowties. They bunch in the middle which makes a hard spot there sometimes and they are kinda hard to get into a fork bc they're so thin.

We just call them butterflies!

I'm a big believer that all pasta is just pasta and the shape does not matter. If I just made a banger cheese sauce because I plan on making a banger Mac and cheese, only to realize the only pasta in my house is spaghetti? I guess we're having Long Mac and Cheese.

Why is it good?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You can tell why by the shape of the pasta.

What?

The pasta! 🍝

Variety

Well I am a psychopath, and I like to combine macaroni and tagliatelle

When I was a kid sometimes my Mum would cook a packet of 2 minute noodles and mix those in with our pasta (which was usually spiral). She'd even use the flavouring packet too. I loved it as a kid.

I love having different shapes of pasta in my bowl. I don't care what others say but it just seems so fun to eat it this way!

I don't mind a mix - of exactly the right shapes on occasion and you can't throw them in willy nilly. They have to be put into the boiling water in order of what needs to be cook the longest. As long as there are no long pastas ever, ever, ever on my plate- except mafalda or pappardelle - and maybe tagliatelle if it's freshly made.

Have you ever had a monospaghetti? It's where you make a plate of spaghetti but it's just one noodle

by Anonymous 1 year ago

No- but that sounds like toooo much noodle!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

But it's good because you can just find one end, stick it in your mouth, and start going. You can easily talk with the noodle in the corner of your mouth. It's bad manners to bite it off and start over.

Right? And no spoon spinning nonsense

I do it all the time and I like it.
