I fully agree!!! I didn't want ours done like that, for the SAME reasons, but I lost out. I would've kept the sink where it was under the window, and put the stove on that side of the island myself. It would be much better that way.

An island sink vs a counter sink right across from the island feels about the same level of full view to me.
