+131 When you were a kid, you were scared of the dentist out of fear of pain. As an adult, you're scared of it because of the cost that pains your wallet. amirite?

No, it's still the pain. And they act like each painkiller is an entire shipment of heroin.

2 extractions, dry socket, writhing in pain. Here let's put some clove oil on it and prescribe Tylenol 3. Useless. To be fair the clove oil did wonders.

Nope, the pain is what scares me. My dentist bill has never been over 100€ so nothing scary about that.

Oh you lucky, lucky Europeans. In the US if you want to have teeth, you better save up a couple grand.

Why do y'all get put under for wisdom teeth? In Denmark they just numb your face even if they have to dig it out. We don't get to have silly videos about being high on whatever it is they give you.

I think that's pretty common in the states as well as long as it's a simple extraction. I know it's normal in Canada to just have a numbing injection

Dental assistant, it depends. Some people won't get it done without being put under. Some can't afford to be put under. Sometimes it has to do with how much work the surgeon has to put in to getting the teeth out too. A lot of places offer full anesthesia but it's usually a personal choice, different surgeons will default to one way or the other and the patient can ask for a different way.

I see. I don't think we even have that choice. As far as I know we can choose between laughing gas and direct anesthesia with a big ass syringe. The syringe works

Some also have that, yes. Laughing gas was used on me a lot when I was a child getting dental work done but in my adulthood, we haven't used it in our office and I haven't received it as part of my anesthesia for any dental work.

Not pain. Not money. I just don't like strangers anywhere near my face.

Dental insurance is inexpensive and worth the time to look into to find a good company that covers most dental procedures.

Not pain, not money, just dislike it when dentists act like vultures waiting for their next meal. Instead of harvesting meat, they are harvesting your teeth. Almost like crackheads, especially when it's back to back appointments. Like WTF, Just do everything once. So I don't have see you again 😂.

No. I get free dental care. Still hate the pain from the dentist.

Incorrect, I'm scared of the dentist because when I was little and getting my brace molds, they forcefully held my mouth shut and my head in place when I started to gag and choke on the stuff.
