+140 The older you get, the more pictures exist where you are the only one still alive. amirite?

I've been feeling this. I'm not yet 40 and have lost my dad, sister and all grandparents. Never had children (not for lack of trying). I'm actually hardly in any photos anymore because I'm the one taking the pics and so no one really thinks to take my picture.

I'm just about 33 and I lost my last grandparent last year. (Very lucky to have gotten to know all of my grandparents and have them stick around for that long.) Now with friends starting to pass, I find more and more pictures where I'm the only one living.

It's a crazy, weird feeling isn't it? Looking at old pictures makes me joyful and hurts at the same time. Those losses cause the realization that our time is finite and precious. Cherish every memory. ♥️

Well, for an average person, they'd only see about half the people in those photos die (assuming it's groups of same age group). If you are unlucky, you might not even experience a single other person in those photos die…

I don't know grandparents take an awful lot of photos with their grandchildren. I feel like the older you get the more likely you are to be the next one to die in the photo.
