+122 People's "abnormalities" in their physical and psychological appearance attract me more to them than those that appear "perfect" or "typically attractive", amirite?

"There is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion." - Sir Francis Bacon (but less famous than Poe's paraphrase)

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You do not find all abnormalities attractive. Just the cute ones lol

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What's an example? I find traits that aren't stereotypically attractive, attractive because it makes people look individual: scars, crooked nose, crooked teeth, far apart eyes. Eg: I find Benedict cumberbatch more attractive than Chris Evans just because there's more unique characteristics. However if they had a massive deformity or cyst that covered half their face than yeah I probably wouldn't be into it.

Those are quite mild compared to what I had in mind. Growing up with pectus carinatum taught me a lot of things, one was that everyone has their limits when it comes to abnormalities in a person.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Naw. That's not what I think actually.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Just the not-disgusting ones*

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I too like British girls

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Haha this made me giggle. I'm gay though

Perfection does not exist amongst humans, so does that mean you love everyone??

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I am drawn to the uniqueness of humans. Yeah.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hm. An interesting take.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I don't know why so many people are being assholes. Of course there are limits to what I find attractive, but I do like unconventional beauty. Stretch marks, acne scars, being overweight (within reason), etc don't immediately turn me off.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Haha I know. It's fascinating to see all the different human behavior in response to an idea.

Bring back WW1 German dueling scars.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yup I hear you OP. Tired of Americanism shoving down my throat that I have to be attracted to blondes with big tits and fat asses. I wouldn't even look at them twice.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

the thing that you are attracted to personally is not really an "unpopular" opinion. nobody else can relate to this opinion other than yourself.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You don't find certain personalities attractive and some not?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well, I suppose it's my opinion of attractiveness. Which seems to contradict a larger community narrative of what beauty and attractiveness are. And I'm talking social attraction as well as sexual.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Same

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I've grown an odd attraction to women with more of a just unique look, I guess. It's hard to explain. Girls with wide set eyes, gapped front teeth, morning hair, are extremely tall, have big or oddly shaped noses, hella freckles, over or under bites, etc. stuff like that.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I get it. I am sexually attracted to hairy older chubby dudes.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Ok like… narcissism??

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Look up the definition of narcissism please and then come back and explain what you mean.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hey! who gave you my personal opinion lol, yeah I honestly agree, haven't scrolled down far enough to know if it's unpopular or not but regardless

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Agree with you 100%. The standardisation of "beauty" seems to be an unremarkable cardboard copy and paste, I find it difficult to distinguish celebs and celebrated "pretty" people due to their almost exact reminiscent features. & the beauty trends I find ghastly unappealing, such as the long nails and fake eyelashes that seem to have come rampant.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Your just saying that cause you have "abnormalities" and feel the best you can do is someone with their own "abnormalities"

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Naw. That's not why I'm saying it. Though it's true those that have suffered are known to have more empathy and compassion toward others.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

But you're not talking about compassion towards others, you're talking about attraction

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Uhh.. regardless.. you are not accurate in your summation of how I feel.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Because you see your defects in them and it makes you more comfortable

by Anonymous 1 year ago

How evolved of you.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Thanks, I was hoping to have my ego stoked, and you pulled in just in time to validate my righteousness. Thanks! *100 emoji*

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You seem to be stroking yourself just fine. Leave my insult out of it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Do you consider hairy girls attractive then? Since most girls choose wax and shave and stitch these daysπŸ˜‚πŸ’€

by Anonymous 1 year ago

The definition of the perfect person changes but the special features of the person will not change that fast.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Wanna see me hobble around?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

From thr physical perspective, I call this "ugly pretty". It doesn't necessarily mean the person is ugly but rather their features are so perplexing when viewed as a whole that you can't decide If they're truly objectively attractive or not but there's just something you're drawn to. It's like the uncanny valley of attractiveness.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This isn't rocket science, but maybe OP doesn't know. If you're seeing someone who is perfect? No metaphorical stains or issues? Run. Run as far as you can.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I'd be more concerned about the person who perceives someone as perfect. To not be able to see the different angles or read into someone and be practical and acknowledge they are imperfect like all people seems like an intense trait that could lead to some challenges in a relationship!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You'd be surprised brother. We All make mistakes.
