>I can't tell if it's legit, or if my employers took some money out for themselves
Is that info not on the pay stub
by Anonymous11 months ago
Don't have access to the pay stubs. This, however, isn't relevant to the opinion. I was just giving some extra information :)

Weekly pay ends up paying way more because it's a mental thing.
No, it's half of the biweekly pay. Your pay rate is still the same. It seems like you're getting paid more, not actually getting paid more
You want to know what bi-weekly pay feels like? Working your ass off in days of hell for half a month, and then receive a paycheck that's not worth it.
So, working your ass off to get paid the same rate every week instead of biweekly is worth it?
On my recent paycheck I can't tell if it's legit, or if my employers took some money out for themselves...
Is your employer paying you under the table? You should be able to figure out your net pay rate very easily and be able to tell if your employer is breaking the law.

"Weekly pay ends up paying way more bc it's a mental thing." I'm sorry, what? It is objectively the same amount of money.

The only thing "good" about bi-weekly pay is the two months where you get three paychecks.
Other than that, weekly pay is superior, assuming you know how to budget your expenses. In that case, there are four months where I get five paychecks.
Two jobs ago, I got paid monthly. It sucked.

Does anybody actually budget anymore? I'd be fine with getting paid monthly. I currently get paid twice a month, 1st and 15th. I sit down on the 1st, pay all the bills for the month and budget what is left for food, gas, entertainment, etc.

I work a week, then get paid for that week on the following Thursday. It's superior to getting paid less often.
I don't see how that would affect how I budget, though. I just get my more often and sooner than most jobs that pay every two weeks, twice a month, or once a month.

Psychologically? Sure.
In practice? You will spend more money as if it is disposable income.
by Anonymous11 months ago
Yes. I am currently salaried and get paid once a month and I hate it.

I worked for an international company for a while and had to listen to my idiot HR rep try and harp about how getting paid monthly was better than bi-weekly.
It wasn't under ***any*** circumstances. Gimme my money bitch.

I've never seen weekly or bi-weekly pay 🤔 Only ever monthly 🤷♀️
by Anonymous11 months ago
No you're not getting enough for this nice try. There is no way in hell this is a unpopular opinion.

Once person gets a few pay cheques/checks out in front how often you get paid is meaningless
