+167 Hate is not an opinion, it's just hate, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I prefer to hate it when....

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Omg lol

by Anonymous 1 year ago

"I hate ketchup" is an opinion about ketchup. "Hate" is just a descriptor that designates the strength of one's preferences.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I dont hate ketchup why you hate ketchup ☹️☹️☹️😭😭😭😭😭😢😢😭😭

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I don't hate ketchup, I was just giving an example lol

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Ketchup will ferment. Ketchup is sometimes sold in these bulk bags for restaurants. When improperly stored those bags can begin to ferment…and swell. And swell and swell. Until they swell too much and explode, splattering sickly sweet rotten ketchup over everything in a roughly twelve foot radius. I've had to clean that up. That's why I hate ketchup.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

that's why I dont hate ketup

by Anonymous 1 year ago

By that logic the same goes for love

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I prefer other people to you

by Anonymous 1 year ago

you sound like a mom who wont let her kid say hate because it's 'too strong' and 'you should use kinder words'

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Not an unpopular opinion, just factually wrong. Seems you are confused about what opinions are

by Anonymous 1 year ago

you fr?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hate is an extreme level of opinion. An opinion is a view or judgement.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Pointless semantics

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I agree somewhat. Just hating just to hate or hating for silly reasons is just being petty but genuinely not liking something and saying it is a valid opinion.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

"Hate" is thrown around way too much that it's lost meaning. Dislike is the word people are looking for

by Anonymous 1 year ago

i hate pedophiles

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I agree with this, hate can be valid

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I prefer rapists to pedophiles

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I prefer normal people to either of those things

by Anonymous 1 year ago

But I want to do better, and this requires a scale of preference

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well in my book pedophiles are rapist… the worst kind.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Now the scale of preference is ruined. I wanted to do better, but now I must revert back to hate 😞

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You can have hateful opinions and still be a good person.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I couldn't disagree more.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hate brussel sprouts, guess I'm scum.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hate people who know damn well they're using strawman arguments.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Thank you. These arseholes know exactly how dishonest they're being when they try to hurt this into an argument over semantics.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's what you're doing tho. Of course you can hate something and still be good

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You can't hate entire groups of people for their nature or background and call yourself good. That's fundamentally prejudicial.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That isn't a hateful opinion. You're not being hateful by hating the taste of brussel sprouts. An example of a hateful opinion would be thinking that all members of a particular ethnic group are criminals by virtue of being a member of that ethnic group. That's *being* hateful. Hating a type of food because you don't enjoy the taste doesn't qualify.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hate that you're right

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hate what I want to hate bro

by Anonymous 1 year ago

And Most importantly: hate is not an emotion

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hate is an adjective for a feeling and therefore an actual opinion. It's simply grammar

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Idk about that, but if anyone starts an argument with you with "I just believe", you should head out.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Opinions doesn't have to be innocent to be opinions.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If it's valid it really isn't crossing a line. There are certain types of people who earned and deserve to be hated for what they choose to be/do.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Policing how people talk is lame.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Opinions have never been and will never be inherently innocent.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What constitutes hate is the problem I have not that actual hate should be tolerated. And who decides what is hate.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Lol might not be innocent, but it's certainly an opinion nevertheless

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hatred is an act. It's the *reasoning* behind the hatred that is the actual opinion.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I use the word hate all the time, but it's often just a figure of speech when I do. People love to nitpick now. There is no nuance anymore.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I wake up real early every morning just to be a hater

by Anonymous 1 year ago

So interesting. I'm glad you typed all that.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This is just wrong

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I have no idea what you are trying to argue here. Nobody thinks hate is an opinion

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I feel like you're getting the same point across regardless of what words you're using.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Why do opinions have to be positive or neutral? People can have strong negative opinions

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hate isn't an opinion, it's an emotion. It can't be labelled invalid, it just is how a person feels. People can't change it directly, they can only choose to ignore or supress it, rationalise themselves out of it or learn to love with it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

real hot take bud

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hate tankies

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This isn't really a difference of opinion. It's more a matter of you assigning some mystical level power behind the word hate, as opposed to what it legitimately is, which is an intense disliking. Which is literally a level of preference and opinion on something, which is how you'd prefer people to talk.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hate is a feeling. Feelings are not opinions, they are feelings. They can influence opinions tho.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Opinions are feelings. Hate is a word that can be used to describe an opinion.

"Swimming isn't a workout it's just swimming" "Chevy isn't a car company it'a just Chevy" "OP isn't stupid he's just OP"
