I was just trying to disgust you by being annoyingly literal. BTW, can I say disgust if I don't add ing to it? What about disgusted? Disgustment? I might just make up my own forms of disgust lol.

It's something called sematic change, which is basically when a word's definition changes over time. For example, the word "dumb" used to mean "disabled" but now means "idiotic". Same with some other words such as awful, sick, and of course, disgusting.
