Animations are worse than real movies. amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
> But I see them as art not animation
So essentially the only reason you think animation in general is not good is because you only count bad animated movies as animation. That's a bit like if I said "Animated movies are better than live action movies, because good live action is art, not a live action movie."
There's a whole lot of animated stuff that *really* works entirely due to the medium of animation. With animation you can really go artsy on visuals in a way you can't with live action, because if you go too far off "common sense" of things with live action, it will quickly go into uncanny valley area and people no longer connect with it.

Bait.

What would be the appropriate title?

Bad example with the Joker movie, just because we have seen animated DC and the animated version of Joker have 9 times out of 10 been amazing

I have seen almost all animated Batman movies, only Dark Knight Returns was okey and maybe Red Hood
by Anonymous1 year ago
Well, thatd be another notch in your belt for unpopular opinions. Animated DC is great

I feel the opposite. An animated movie can get away with a lot more. Real people can really cause a scene to look "cringeworthy" if not well executed.

Are video games for kids too?
You simultaneously sound like an out of touch grandpa and a kid in their edgy "I'm too old for kids animations" phase.

Heck no. Anime in particular will always make me cry. 'Up' also makes me cry in the start and no one is even talking. Quality voice actors are really good at making you feel feelings.
Also side note - you should watch del Toros Takes of Arcadia.. it's amazing! Prior to the bits filmed after his death - Anton Yelchin voices the main character and does an absolutely amazing job.

I have never watched anime

A lot of anime is catered towards an older audience so has some pretty deep themes that give me all the feels.

dont

Grave of the Fireflies would like a word.

It depends what animation and what movie. For example toy story is held in higher regard than the nth mass produced Marvel turd of the year.
Also where is the line between animation and real film now? Live action films use so much CGI these days
by Anonymous1 year ago
My line is real actors. And most of them have clotting, not cgi. Exemple: Drax
by Anonymous1 year ago
So lotr and start wars prequels which are like entirely CGI with actors green screened in would be a movie
But Aku no Hana which is an anime entirely made by rotoscoping (drawing on videocamera film) footage of live actors would be animated
I don't think the line is a clearcut as you make out
by Anonymous1 year ago
Prequels had a lot of real locations...
Lotr had real faces, even mogul
I have limited knowledge on anime
by Anonymous1 year ago
If joker was animated it could be even better tbh. Animation allows for more creativity and stylistic choices that would be too expensive to do in live action.

i agree with "actors let you connect and feel the character together". I watch movies frequently and not just on the surface level so what gets me excited is the raw emotion that some actors bring out. I love the intricate details that are directed in their acting for a scene that makes it look real, and I just completely miss out on this feeling while watching anything animated! for me personally, animated movies are for the plot while non-animated movies are the whole package deal. If acting is hard, conveying that emotion to the audience to make them understand that feeling is 100 times harder and non-animated movies and shows are the only way that effort can be appreciated.

hard disagree but i respect your opinonion
by Anonymous1 year ago
no problem i respect ur 'opinonion' too lol
by Anonymous1 year ago
I completely agree

My original title was( Animations are below movies). But I wasn't sure if it was grammatically correct.
by Anonymous1 year ago
English is my second language
by Anonymous1 year ago
Considering no animated movie has ever won best picture this would not be an unpopular opinion
by Anonymous1 year ago
I also enjoyed Dark Knight Returns, but I felt like watching kids show
by Anonymous1 year ago
They're totally different and one isn't better than the other. Unless of course we're talking about live action versions of anime because those are usually catastrophes.
