+151 It's perfectly understandable for schools to limit or ban gum, amirite?

Singapore banned gum and you'll have to pay a huge fine (S$2,000 IIRC) if caught and will be named and shamed. As a result it's a much cleaner city.

I have no problem making gum illegal

I have trouble focusing in class and gum allows me to have something else happening while I'm doing my work. If it was banned I would definitely struggle focusing.

I severely struggled during my exams because people were chewing gum or clicking their pen. Hearing these things fills me with rage.

You should probably invest in earplugs

I used these constantly in school but that doesn't solve the chewing gum or pen clicking issue.

I've always said, when rise to power, gum would be banned before chair even got warm. A first 30 days executive order. Really and truly the first thing I would do before sitting down with my advisors and saving the world. So I'm totally down, OP.

As a school custodian, I can confirm. Chewing gum has no purpose being inside of a school.

Chewing gum has always been banned in my school Nobody cared. Everyone ignored the ban. If the teacher caught you, he just told you to go and throw it in the trash
