+180 I hate pickles and ketchup in burgers, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Pickles add acidity to what is essentially a salt and fat bomb of a sandwich. Most well-balanced foods will have have some acidity of some sort added to even out the flavor profile. That being said pickles are polarizing and I understand why people wouldn't want them in their burger. Personally I love them. I am with you on the ketchup tho. I hate the stuff... no idea why its the go-to.

Ketchup is disgusting. Pickles are ok.

Agreed on pickles, because I just flat out don't like pickled cucumber that isn't sunomono (Japanese cucumber salad that's lightly pickled with rice vinegar). Ketchup is the default on my burgers simply because there's rarely a viable alternative for a condiment - I **cannot** tolerate mayonaise or Thousand Island due to sensory issues, mustard only works to balance the ketchup, most places don't have BBQ sauce, etc.

how about in hotdogs?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

nah, I'd still prefer it without ketchup. If the hotdog truly tastes good I don't need any extra condiments

In or on?

Well, ketchup is an abomination on anything, but pickles? Mmmm. The tanginess goes great with the umami from the meat and cheese.

I like having a crunchy pickle next to the burger. But sliced pickles are always too soggy and sad.

Ketchup has no place on naked meat. Breaded meat requires another argument.

This is what's wrong with the world. People who can't or won't eat a burger properly.

Just the pickles part I agree with. I hate a dry burger so I need some sort of sauce

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yeah, should be on it instead

by Anonymous 1 year ago

idk why you have to ask to remove the pickles when nobody has ever said hey dude where are the pickles

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I never trust a person who doesn't like pickles.

I'm sorry to hear that because even the smell of pickles makes me gag. The same goes for ketchup.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I agree with the pickles take I think they nasty and hate them on my burgers don't really use ketchup all that much but I don't mind it

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Wait, you hate pickles? Do you happen to work for Mr Beast??

Pickles are disgusting and should never be on any burger. Ketchup, mustard or mayo is always good on any burger though.
