Batman vs superman was a terrible film. The guy who played Lex Luger was not intimidating in general just wasn't fun. So, I reject that the syderverse is better. Marvel has some terrible films but the infinity saga is just awesome in every sense of the world. My favourite is The Winter Solider and Endgame.

I don't think he necessarily needs to be intimidating, just needs to be smarter than super man. I guess I don't know much about lex Luther, but the idea of a antisocial incel type lunatic using his wits to defeat a god sounds pretty interesting to me. It's just a different spin on the character

While I don't agree that they are perfect, they are better than all the hate for them suggests. I rewatched Batman VS Superman the other day for the first time since it came out and it is a better movie than I remembered it being. I'm not saying there aren't problems with his films, but they are better than their reputation suggest. And can we all just appreciate how amazingly good Hans Zimmer's Superman theme is?

It's one thing to say that his comic book movies are good. They're not, of course, because they're trash peddling some attempt at cynicism from someone whose only skill is overblown spectacle, but that would be one thing. It's another thing entirely to say that the guy who seems to openly despise comic books "recreated" anything on screen. We're talking about a guy who thinks Batman should murder everyone he sees and wield a gun while Superman runs around with hollow Jesus imagery. Marvel movies do so much better because they're actually well made films. Sure, they're overdone by this point, but that's because we've been getting them for over a decade whereas DC makes one piece of trash every few years that contrarians claim is good.

I especially love the drab color palette, superman destroying the entire city himself, the not-really,ambigous moral choices it's built on, and the goofy acting (esp zod loool)
