Agree, same for potato chips as well. If a resturant brags they have "homemade chips" I will not be ordering them. Sometimes you just need a machine to do it.

Depends on what your using them for. if you're just dipping them in something then yeah, but if you're making nachos or something that gets soggy then the homemade ones are pretty necessary

You can get thinner tortillas used for nachos. The fresh nachos are the best when using thinner tortillas.
Most videos show a pack of tortillas, cut into triangles, and deep fried. I've made homemade tortillas just haven't turned those homemade tortillas into chips. So I can't say how those turn out
