+132 Having a sandwich with just cheese is weird, until you cook it, then it's normal. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

i guess you have never been to the Netherlands where a sandwich with just cheese is the most common breakfast and lunch there is

by Anonymous 1 year ago

When I'm there I only eat hagelslag. But yes, cheese on bread was breakfast.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's your choices but you have to try the jam with bread you also like it

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What did you just call me?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What's weird about a cheese sandwich?!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

OP believing their personal experience is universal. Pretty common problem around here.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Texture and temperature changes a dish. Just like how you wouldn't eat a frozen chicken breast.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What has that go to do with cheese on a sandwich? Cheese is most definitely the most common thing to put on a sandwich AND it's common to eat cheese as is as well. Why would a sandwich with cheese be weird?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Maybe you have a reading comprehension problem. But OP said it's weird to eat two pieces of bread with only cold cheese in the middle. Which…it is, unless you're stupid and were born yesterday. Until it is heated and melted. I said it's because temperature and texture changes an entire dish. Does that not compute?

Actual monkey brain response

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Don't tell me what I can and can't do!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Just OP being entitled

by Anonymous 1 year ago

As a proud brit I am here to defend the honor of the noble cheese sandwich 🥪

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Same here. Nothing weird about a cheese sandwich what so ever.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Not the weird but you take egg with bread that's more healthy than the cheese. Sandwich

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Warburtons toastie bread; lots of butter; thick slices of Cathedral city extra mature and some Branston pickle. Sandwich of the gods

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This is def a USA perspective. All of UK/EU loves a cheese sandwich that is room temp.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

US born and raised, couldn't imagine life without cheese sandwiches. Don't pin this weirdo on us!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

So does the USA

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I do like grilled cheese. I don't mind some sandwiches toasted. But my go to lunch is whatever meat I want for the week plus cheese. Cold. Between two slices of bread.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

As a brit I've got to disagree

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Cheese and mayo sandwiches are a staple in our house

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Throw some chips on there (my favorite are cool ranch Doritos or crab chips ((a local delicacy)) and you have one of my favorite meals.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

When I was in school, people that didn't have lunch money got either a pb&j or a cheese sandwich.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Cheese sandwiches are tasty... what are you talking about?!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You should taste than never you asked that question

by Anonymous 1 year ago

my dad eats cheese sandwiches all the time, so even in California it's not unusual

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I ate 10,000 cheese sandwiches when I was a kid. I'd eat like 4 at a time, some days.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Voluntarily?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yup. I loved them. I'd eat them after school and weekends. Salami sandwiches, too. I grew up in a good home. I just had stuff like that which I loved.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If you combine them, you get a charcuterie sandwich

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I likes also to eat everywhere I going like picnics trip in a school my mom made it two three lunch boxes we all. Friends are eat and enjoy the trip. 😄

by Anonymous 1 year ago

A cheese sandwich is.. weird?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

My daily Breakfast 😄 without cook he never taste good , so we have to. Cook it, like always that person have a capability but he never do something but we work on it we always taste something good

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You might be brain damaged. Go see a doctor.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well, I guess I need to book a flight to the Netherlands ASAP! Cheese sandwiches all day, every day!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Tell me you've never had a pimiento cheese sandwich without telling me you've never had a pimiento cheese sandwich.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Now I'm craving one

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I was working in a little town in the michigan U.P. and had a craving for a pimiento cheese sammich. Searched every store in town, and finally asked a clerk. She had never heard of it. I was dumbfounded.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Idk man, a bread roll with some cheddar, provolone, or pepper jack is pretty good.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What is wrong with my ham and cheese sandwich for lunch? Or a nice Muenster on rye with mustard?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

They said just cheese, so ham and cheese is not relevant.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I agree. There's a scene in a diner in the movie The Duel (Speilburgs first!) where the main character orders a cheese sandwich and a glass of water and it really stood out for me for the spartanness of his menu choice.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yeah, it's kind of like how eating six string cheese in a row is weird, but if you batter and fry them and dip them in marinara it's normal.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

A sandwich with no condiments and a single slice of Kraft was the lunch we got when our parents didn't put money in our lunch account. Better than nothing, but ver embarrassing to be pulled out of the lunch line

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Looks like I've been missing out on some cheesy Dutch adventures!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Cheese and Vegemite sandwiches are good!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well, I stand corrected! The Netherlands, masters of cheese sandwiches. Respect!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Am I too Dutch to understand that reference?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Absolutely not. I'd take a cheese and mayo sammich over grilled cheese eight days a week.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I mean, it's kinda weird with certain cheeses I suppose, like provolone, wouldn't do that. But cheddar and soft cheeses like brie go with raw bread just fine IMO

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Texture. I once tried to cook a sandwich with only cheese in the microwave thinking I'll get an instant grilled cheese. I took a few bites out of it and it was very chewy and disgusting. I was 14 when I did this.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I'm with OP on this one. Proof: they don't serve ungrilled cheese sandwiches at restaurants (don't come at me with your random ass local restaurant either)

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Trying to drink a cup full of ice is strange until it melts.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

No, then it's *better* I know weirdos who eat uncooked cheese sandwiches. It's normal, if you're into that

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Are you American, OP? And maybe never tried some **decent** cheese?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

sandwich with just ketchup is perfectly normal if you disagree you hate jesus
