Arnold's career was never ruined. I genuinely enjoy every movie he's ever made and a lot of them are core memories from my childhood.

He did choose to retire from acting though so he could get into politics. He also was entering his 50s then, which can sometimes limit the action star roles youre given. I would agree thats when his superstar action hero era was starting to come to an end but I dont think Id blame it entirely on the movie, it was still a huge hit.

Conan the Barbarian is the movie that ruined his career

Didn't he just sign a 7 or 8 figure deal with Netflix? I wish my career was "ruined"

That's just the direction his career was already going. He was 49 when that movie came out. The prevailing wisdom was that action roles were a younger man's game and he needed to move on to other stuff.
