Good dry seasoning is superior to sauces. amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
My favorite would be a good dry seasoning with some sauce added on, but I feel like I agree with this point because so many restaurants do way too much sauce.
It just tastes gross getting something like wings with sauce completely covering it.

That's a fair analysis and one I agree with.

This isn't unpopular, you just haven't heard of enough of us. Sauce just isn't for me either, no matter what I try sauce on meat is just too sweet. Now a good dry rub with a good dipping sauce? That we can do

I'm a lazy bitch and I spend a lot of time looking for time-saving hacks.
Now that you mention it, sauces *are* messy, and *do* add quite a bit of clean up. A lot of plates I could just wipe off and put back instead have to be sink-washed, solely because I used sauces. I'm going to try some dry season-mixes.
Thank you.

Totally fair and a good reason! My favorites are Tony's, Cavenders, Cajun's choice, and Zatarains Cayenne Pepper (for fries and tacos). Trust me on that last one. Sleeper hit.

Hard agree, this is the main reason why I'm always hesitant to go to a BBQ place, I love smokes meats but they always ruin it by drowning it in nasty sauce

And the wood smoke already adds a ton of really good flavor.

You can season and sauce.

Seems far fetched, but I'll try to sneak it into the rotation.

Just wait till you hear about brines.

Just experimented with that the other day on some chicken. Kind of a game changer after it soaked into the meat.

Yeah it's nice to have seasoning on the outside. But even better when it's everywhere.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Been saying this for years!!
by Anonymous1 year ago
yeah creole seasoning doesn't overpower anything

Sweet! I finally have an unpopular opinion!
by Anonymous1 year ago
It's also possible to do neither
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yes! That's how I feel about it too. Especially when is comes to wings and ribs. Plus without the sauce it's so much less messy.

I always dry brine my meat with some kind of salt rub
