Just play at whatever setting you want. There's no right or wrong answer. Some people like playing casually. Some people enjoy the thrill of surviving a boss battle with a sliver of health remaining.

the rush of having 3 health while the boss is still at half health and you're at the edge of your seat… so fun but anxiety inducing

Sekiro is king at this. When you fighting Isshin and you're on the last phase and used your resurrection and have literally one hit vitality left…one missed parry..

>But why? And for what? For the sense of accomplishment you feel when you overcome a struggle. Amazing that the point of games has been lost by our culture.

For story heavy games I agree. I don't like when the flow gets interrupted but that's because I suck and die repeatedly. Anything else I don't mind some extra difficulty for the challenge.

I can't argue with this.

To each their own. Games don't necessarily become fun by being hard, but there are certain mechanics that you never really get to experience if you're all but invincible. Like the fun of a strategy game is using strategy, it doesn't have to be punishing but if you don't even have to think about it, you're not really getting much of an experience.

Eh it depends the game. If its doom then I feel like it was made specifically for the hardest difficulty. But a story driven rpg then for sure I can understand where your coming from.

I always just leave it on "normal", it lets me get immersed in the story but still gives me atleast some challenges

As much as I love the feeling of grabing my 249 and walking towards the enemy firing from the hip and completly destroying them. Nothing will ever beat the feeling of being surrounded, low hp and ammo and trying to get it out. Esspecially playing with others and just yelling for help while on your final stand.
