People who smoke cigarettes shouldn't be able to drive for Uber. amirite?

I think they should be allowed, but maybe have a "smoker" warning

I am allergic to general smoke, and cigarette smoke is part of that (as in it makes my eyes water, my nose stuffs and runs, hard to breath, itchy eyes)

Yeah, I agree with this to a point. Like, you should be allowed to deny a driver because of it. But this is coming from the person who thinks smoking shouldn't be allowed on any property that provides multi family housing: apartments, condos, townhouses etc. I'm so sick and tired of having my window open in the summer cause it's hot as hell and being woken up by all the smokers in my complex. *sigh*

Where the hell can they smoke if it is banned inside ? Outside the complex is the only option. Smokers are already punished enough by society for having an addiction which is hard to break .

Smoking is fundamentally a choice. Nobody is born a smoker. Society is also not obligated by any means to cater to smokers, and if anything has done millions of people a favour by becoming more hostile to tobacco consumption.

What about people who only smoke outside ? Not every smoker smokes on their car and we are already punished enough by society for addiction . People make assumptions that smokers smoke inside and everywhere when it isn't true . It would be so illegal to ban everyone who smoked form Uber .

It doesn't smell that bad on the clothes if they smoke outside . I don't even smell it . The outside air gets rid of most of it . You can't fire all smokers and refuse to hire them. That would be unethical .

It should only be required to be marked as a driver who smokes that way you can request non-smoking only drivers. those who smoke won't care as much, in fact they might prefer it as it would mean they might be allowed to smoke in the ride.
