Eating before going to bed at night is bad but it's hard to fall asleep with empty stomach, amirite?
by Anonymous1 year ago
Eat a couple of hours before bed. Your body won't have fully digested it after a couple of hours so your stomach won't be too empty or too full. Or you can have a light snack before bed. Just keep it small, and easy to digest.

I like sleeping in a fasted state more than on a full stomach

I didn't feel that way when I was on the Keto diet. I deeply missed that comatose feeling after eating h a massive bowl of pasta.

Nothing worse than feeling bloated when going to sleep. I hate it

You would have to be serial killer to enjoy bloated gut.

Bowl of cereal just before bed I've done since a kid stave off the hunger till morning then it's a good sized bowl of protein porridge 😋

I want to hear more about this protein porridge.

Are you sure?

Go look it up then lol....

I like to eat some walnuts, roasted pumpkin seeds and cottage cheese before bed.

This sounds delicious!

Every body is different. If you need a snack to sleep, eat one and go to sleep. Labeling everything good or bad has gotten out of hand unfortunately.
by Anonymous1 year ago
It isn't bad unless you get an upset stomach. Eat whenever you want.
by Anonymous1 year ago
I dont think its bad?
by Anonymous1 year ago
not with that username.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yeah I'm unsure exactly what about it is "bad"
by Anonymous1 year ago
I think its your body will not digest it as well as if you were awake, making you retain more calories or lose potential calories. Eitherway its not a bad thing.
by Anonymous1 year ago
It has nothing to do with retaining or losing calories. The only reason it's not recommended is because you may not sleep well if you're susceptible to indigestion or acid reflux.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Oh, i sleep the best on a full tummy lol
by Anonymous1 year ago
The problem is not eating before bed(unless you get indigestion or similar issues), it's what most people eat before bed. Most people don't eat a healthy salad before bed. They tend to eat food that isn't as good for us before bed.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Oh. I eat bad all the time sadly.
by Anonymous1 year ago
same here. I'd rather have a slice of pie before bed rather than a healthy salad.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Pie is soo good
by Anonymous1 year ago
Dont you actually digest food faster while asleep?
If it doesnt, The stomach doesn't just turn off.
by Anonymous1 year ago
A good night's sleep is more important than doing the absolute ideal thing
It's impossible to sleep hungry for me
by Anonymous1 year ago
It's not bad to eat before going to bed.
by Anonymous1 year ago
You don't need to eat much. A banana. Or a cup of almond milk. I discovered that watermelon is surprisingly filling.
by Anonymous1 year ago
I totally understand the struggle, but I try to have a light snack if I can't fall asleep on an empty stomach.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Same. The human body is ironic in this regard. That snack are calories not really needed
by Anonymous1 year ago
Not true - you burn calories in your sleep and if you are in a deficit going into sleep it can affect sleep quality. You don't want to digest a 24oz ribeye but you don't want to be fasted.
by Anonymous1 year ago
It's not bad. That's a myth.
Eating a huge breakfast first thing in the morning is usually bad.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Nearly every time I'm trying to sleep, my stomach growls. I can't win.
by Anonymous1 year ago
I'm up two times a night anyways so I gave up on the no food before bed a long time ago.
by Anonymous1 year ago
That's why you have to go the "middle way".
If you eat 3 - 5 hours before bedtime you won't be that hungry (otherwise you have an eating problem).
by Anonymous1 year ago
I sleep to not be hungry when I wake up idk how that works but it does
