+161 An adult with some stuffed animals is adorable and it can be a lovely hobby collecting and maintaining and a stranger (or anyone) judging someone on that alone is close-minded and shallow, amirite?

depends on the plush to room ratio. Literally met a person that had half their bedroom filled with plush.

Whole room covered or very few. No in-between.

I have a few stuffed animals that I think are adorable (I'm 30). They stay on my bed and I'll never part with them. Any friend who thinks they are weird or think less of me because of them will no longer be a friend of mine lol

I will say Im an adult that keeps quite a few decent sized stuffed animals on my bed. I do it as its my way to help calm and relax my mind at night. Everyone has their own method of doing it and this is mine.

Depends. If you make it as your whole personality and make it your only hobby, then I will judge you. Otherwise, it is fine.

A couple is fine. But alot is a sign of immaturity.

Nothing wrong with your hobby. We all have vices. I used to carry a mascot with me on my deployments. If you collect them it's cool. Oh you have many displayed on your bed? it's still cool. Oh you have names for each and everyone. Ok. Why is one holding a knife? Arrhgh. Honestly, if you have one for comfort it's ok as it has sentimental value. If you talk to it like it's family, I'm going to be skeptical of you being a functioning adult. I grew up when the beanie babies craze was rampant so it is not out of the norm. You been to Japan? Plenty of stuffed characters to win in the crane game. Owning a bunch of stuff animals is not weird at all to me.

I put away my stuffed animals when I was eight or so. I see them as a sign of immaturity in adults.

What if a dead parent or sibling gave you one and you keep it around as a memento? Is it acceptable for you in that case?

That sounds like an immature mindset

I carry a stuffed animal on planes when I am scared and I'm in my thirties. Living alone is not easy, and a fear of flying is even worse.

Depends what judging means. I don't think less of someone for it, but I'd probably think I don't want to be friends with them. It's not out of embarrassment. It's simply that I can make a somewhat confident guess that we wouldn't have enough in common based on that hobby.
