"British Humour" is a concept that only exists in the minds of non-british people. amirite?

If everyone else is telling you that you're different, then you probably are.

British humor is a guy pretending to be an intellectual (e.g. Stephen Fry, Rowan Atkinson) looking down on people and lecturing them. And I like Fry and Atkinson; when they're on, they're funny. But there has to be a balance between funny and making your point. When the scales tip too much towards the latter, they just come across like condescending jerks. That's what "British humor" seems like to me.

That's just being British

I don't think they're pretending. Which doesn't mean they're not also condescending jerks.

I think pretty much every country has an individual sense of humour - nuances that foreigners just won't notice.

i can tell you the difference in style between LA humor and chicago humor and PNW humor and east coast humor. of course there is a difference between british humor and humor from other countries.

I'm British, and I have to disagree. It's certainly not exclusively British, but it certainly is concentrated and originated there; consider things like Monty Python.
You'll see a very similar sense of humor with many Indians, for example, for historical reasons, and it's not unpopular in America either. (Indians have an excellent sense of humor in my experience.)
