I can't stand it, and don't even think it does a good job at sounding like a happy song. Doesn't sound negative but doesn't invoke any feelings of happiness to me either (which I would hate anyway, but would at least admit he did what he was aiming for) To me, songs like: I wanna dance with somebody - Whitney, I got you - James brown, good vibrations - beach boys, this kiss - faith hill - all give off the emotion of being happy. Pharrell just says the word "happy" over and over. If it were a different word, I don't think many people would get a feeling of happiness from that overall annoying song

It has been overplayed but it is a well crafted song. Reminds me of classic northern soul.
