+160 Stand up comedy is boring and not funny, amirite?

I loved Norm Macdonald on podcasts and talkshows but his specials were pretty "meh". I guess the specials lack spontaneity.

Same. His appearances on Conan are some of the funniest things I have ever seen on any talk show.

What I loved was his complete lack of professionalism and disregard for talk show formalities. He could do a joke in a really half-assed and incoherent way and still be funny.

It's the PC culture that limits the comedy. It's the only thing I'll agree with republicans on. Dry humor comedy? Too mean Self deprecating comedy? That guy has serious mental health issues Insult? Too mean At some point everyone began taking comedy way too seriously. Which is why so many resort to sex jokes now

This "PC culture" is greatly exaggerated and isn't something that's actually present on a scale that matters. Any time a comedian complains about cancel culture, I take it that they're out of material.

Ah yes, those poor extremely wealthy people who sometimes experience negative responses to what they say into microphones. Truly they are under the bootheel of PC fascism "You're too woke" is the first refuge of dudes that aren't funny enough

I'm not going to go into an anti-woke diatribe... and "woke" people can occasionally be funny, but the stand up format just lends itself to extreme shock comedians like Kinneson and other anti-woke (or anti-pc in those days) comedians.

Stand up is best live in person. I haven't watched it for awhile aside from clips here and there.
