Udon and yakisoba are so much better than ramen, amirite?

Team Udon all the way 🙌

gimme the big chungus noodles

I actually completely agree! While I love instant ramen at home or work, at a restaurant I'll always prefer udon over ramen. Have you tried cold dipping noodles? Those will always be my favorite. Yum.

I think udon is ok I don't really compare the two cause I have to be in a different mood to order either

Tell me you've never had my ramen without telling me you've never had my ramen.
Maruchan chicken flavor. Fresh broccoli bits and pieces of sliced carrot brought to boil. Fried chicken wing meat stripped gently off of the bone. Noodles in then after a short while the seasoning. In a big black plastic bowl, a healthy splash of sesame oil, a few drops of rice vinegar, generous flakes of crushed red pepper scattered over the bowl. 100% noodles, 90% liquid. Served with a fork, napkin, and, for a drink a chilled glass of tap water.

Thanks for the recipe suggestion, I'll try it out sometime once I have the ingredients. I just used up all my chicken the other day.

Yeesss! Love so much!

I absolutely love authentic ramen but I'm not a fan of instant unless it's one of the spicy ones. Instant udon all the way.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Agreed, instant udon is the best instant noodle of the three

mi goreng

Mi goreng is pretty good, but I should've specified I meant Japanese style ramen

Isn't... Isn't ramen the dish and udon and soba just noodles? Like you can have miso based ramen with either or?

ramen is the thin noodles and also a dish
like how spaghetti is a pasta and as dish

Went to Japan recently and had some mall food court udon that blew my mind.
Though I did also have some ramen at a semi hole in the wall place that was amazing too

I love ramen. Not instant ramen but real ramen. That being said, I agree with you that udon is my favorite, followed by yakisoba. I just realized that half of what I eat is those three things .

I would rather have Yakisoba.

Yakisoba is wonderful

It's the only asian soup Americans know about besides pho, and it makes them feel classy and international to eat it.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yeah, I think it depends on the area but I'd say that's true too. I live close to the US-Mexico border so it's pretty difficult to find Asian eateries. I actually had Pho for the first time about a week ago

Yes

Udon is the best. I 100% agree.

Yakisoba all the way. Real ramen just tastes like seaweed soup.

Team Udon! Love a good cold sesame udon bowl on a hot day, also good with yakisoba, but I prefer the fresh thick udon noodles from my local shop!

I am a huge yakisoba fan, but one of the very best bites of food I've ever had was a tonkatsu ramen in a complete hole in the wall in tokyo.
It was simply divine.
No yakisoba has ever come close to this experience. No other ramen has either, but at least I got it once.
