I love it. I'm Irish though so maybe I'm biased but it's a huge celebration here in some parts and steeped in ancient traditions
Even the American, overcomercialised version seems like fun, some people might not like the more scary/ gruesome side but I think its cool that we celebrate that
You can absolutely have fun with it as an adult, as an adult myself with a kid I love getting them into it. Scary stories, costumes, staying up late etc.
We carve turnips aswell as pumpkins s. Turnips were the traditional jack-o'-lantern, America brought about the pumpkin

I can appreciate that perspective as well! Seeing it as a cultural heritage thing is cool.

I agree with you on the whole seeing it in summer thing
The whole point of the original festival was one last celebration before the long dark winter nights set in
We had a celebration for summer which is sadly all but gone now

Wait what?
Of course stores put out Halloween stuff now! There's no time to do that in October!
Everyone knows all of our thanksgiving stuff goes out in October. Then Christmas stuff goes up on November 1st.

The entire month of October before the last day seems like plenty of time to me...but that's just me...
I'm also in the camp of "Christmas shouldn't be celebrated before Thanksgiving is over", but that's probably an unpopular opinion as well.

Yeah, two months is a good window to start selling decorations and making plans.
My problem is that I'm seeing christmas stuff already.

When you walk up your street at Halloween. Does every house decorate? I highly doubt it. I'll bet more houses do absolutely nothing than actuality do anything.

I'd say it's half and half.

So this is not an unpopular opinion.

I don't like it either........lol

There are now 15 versions of Batman. At least one will enter your window and have a talk with you.

The first one is a classic horror flick, the rest are varying degrees of quality.

Haha, I've never seen the movies either, I'm not a horror person (unless it's Stranger Things)!
