It isn't just about money and success though, most women I know are just more attracted older men than younger men.
It has nothing to do with how much money they have or their education or how successful their career is. I don't see that reversing just because women are becoming more successful on average than they used to be.
20s, 30s and 40s. It seems almost universal in my experience. Obviously there are exceptions and even the women I know who have/are dating a younger man don't actually have a preference for younger men, it's more of an anomoly for them.
no, no, and no what you'll continue to see is some older career women settling and many male incels that well, stay incels. Can't change millions of years of biology.
I just don't think this is true. There are absolutely some women who are into younger guys, but generally speaking, women want mature men because relationships are not primarily about sex for us. I'm 33 and the idea of dating anyone even age 25 is gross to me. They are not emotionally or mentally mature enough. They don't have the life experience to meet me halfway in a relationship.
Nah women generally like men that are older and men generally like younger women. As women pursue their careers more there may be more cougars looking for young men but the overall dynamic is not just gonna change because of economics.
Women are generally hypergamous, meaning they date men who have similar or higher social status. Most women would rather remain single than support an unsuccessful partner.
When I was younger I used to date guys up to 11 years older than me. Now in my 30s I'm married to a guy younger than me and he's probably the most mature one I've been with. I'm not doing this for "fun and attention" lol. Plus it's not like it's all up to the women to choose. If men don't want to be with older women then it wouldn't work.
I'm CF and have a good career but unlike men I have no desire to be with someone much younger than me, maybe 4-5 years at the max. Women don't obsess nearly as much about dating younger people like men do.
Really? I think men are less ageist than women when it comes to dating.
Men generally don't care about age as long as you're not to much older or too much younger than them, whereas women strictly tend to prefer older men or men around the same age as them.
Women are doing worse than men. Even though they are given many advantages, they still earn less than men because they don't want to work as hard. Even though they get way more college degrees than men, they still get most of the lowering paying professions because they don't want to do the stuff that pays like engineering. It is no coincidence that there is no female Elon musk or bill gates.
I can agree with your premise and maybe with your conclusion but I don't see how one follows from the other unless you're assuming that most people get into relationships only for economic interest.
Do you know actually know any women? Serious question. Women are already heavily complaining that men their age lack the basic life skills and maturity they expect in an equal partner, and you think they are all collectively gonna start going for less capable men? Hahahahah
I know lots of women, and they make more than their partners/husbands. The ones who are single and not looking for serious relationships do date younger men, and as OP said it's for "pleasure, attention and fun", they don't care how capable they are if that's all they're looking for.
I think you're overstating the degree of these effects and ignoring the fact that it's increasingly difficult to make a go of things on one income. So women still need men for "provision" just as much as the man needs the woman for "provision."
More importantly, you're missing that women don't date older men for money. They date older men because they think they're mature and perceive a certain type of protection and stability that comes from a man like that.

How old are the women you know ?
20s, 30s and 40s. It seems almost universal in my experience. Obviously there are exceptions and even the women I know who have/are dating a younger man don't actually have a preference for younger men, it's more of an anomoly for them.
Pfft, I ain't waiting 10-20 years, I've been jumping on that train for ages now. *roars in Cougar*
Won't last, best dynamic is younger female and older male
Weird take that means nothing
I bet you $50 dollars this won't be the case. We can donate it to charity, if you wish.
Hell, let's make it $100.
no, no, and no what you'll continue to see is some older career women settling and many male incels that well, stay incels. Can't change millions of years of biology.
It's biology for women to be attracted to young attractive guys though
No, it s biology for women to be attracted to protectors and providers. Guys will always be attracted to young fertile women.
Nah
Nha there will just be less couples
That's just your fantasy
I just don't think this is true. There are absolutely some women who are into younger guys, but generally speaking, women want mature men because relationships are not primarily about sex for us. I should have said most dating situations rather than couples
OP is a 45 year old woman trying to convince herself that hot college jocks will finally want her
Opposite
Happy cougar hunting sir
Women will also more commonly date other women.
Why would you think that lol π it's not going to change their sexuality
I mean I think more gay men and women will be comfortable having relationships as time passes, but not because woman make more moneyβ¦
That is way more likely than dating a young guy
That too
Nah women generally like men that are older and men generally like younger women. As women pursue their careers more there may be more cougars looking for young men but the overall dynamic is not just gonna change because of economics.
It's changing already
Women are generally hypergamous, meaning they date men who have similar or higher social status. Most women would rather remain single than support an unsuccessful partner.
They won't support an unsuccessful partner who is their age but they will cut the young men some slack and enjoy their youth instead
What's the point for a young guy to date a grandma?
35 -45 year old woman isn't a grandma
I am 47, 35 is not older.
If I was 30, would date 40 no problem, and I did, but would date a 20 yo at the same time
When I was younger I used to date guys up to 11 years older than me. Now in my 30s I'm married to a guy younger than me and he's probably the most mature one I've been with. I think he means a trophy husband. Like women would grab men for pleasure, not life long partnership
4-5 years younger is still younger
If you're over the age of 35, then 4-5 years isn't a big difference, but a 25 year old is a big difference.
I am 47. 52 yo woman is a grandma who needs no sex, likes her tv alcohol and cats, I better pass
You're not 47 years old.
Yes π I am 12...π§
You're over 35?
Well it's gonna become more common for women to go for young guys it won't be enough attractive men their age to go around
Only if those young guys learn how to cook and clean up after themselves, otherwise what's the point.
You could date number of man and woman at the same time, if being cf, it doesn't matter
That's not something I do, having random sex just because I can is not my thing.
Old fashioned, things could change in 20ys
The way I feel isn't "old fashioned". Not everything is about sex to everyone.
This π
Sex is good. Good sex is a glue for people to stay together.
That is why it was invented by nature.
That doesn't mean that someone should hump anything they can. Good sex can be had without numerous partners.
Yeah, but it gets boring with one. If there are no kids, why not try someone else
yikes
Men don't "obsess" about being with younger people, it's just a simple preference
Preference =/= Obsession
Really? I think men are less ageist than women when it comes to dating.
Men generally don't care about age as long as you're not to much older or too much younger than them, whereas women strictly tend to prefer older men or men around the same age as them.
I don't see any reason for dating an old woman except $.
Older doesn't mean grandma status
I am 47, some of my classmates probably have grandkids already
The older a woman gets the less her status becomes. Grandma is just that to an extreme.
Women are doing worse than men. Even though they are given many advantages, they still earn less than men because they don't want to work as hard. There is no much difference makes she 80k or he 120, same life
Men are just better at what they do than women is all. You are right, 80k is still comfortable.
For company women are easier to deal with, most are "I love my job"
X to doubt
Spinsters will continue
Even if it happened, so?
I can agree with your premise and maybe with your conclusion but I don't see how one follows from the other unless you're assuming that most people get into relationships only for economic interest.
