Nah women generally like men that are older and men generally like younger women. As women pursue their careers more there may be more cougars looking for young men but the overall dynamic is not just gonna change because of economics.

When I was younger I used to date guys up to 11 years older than me. Now in my 30s I'm married to a guy younger than me and he's probably the most mature one I've been with. I'm not doing this for "fun and attention" lol. Plus it's not like it's all up to the women to choose. If men don't want to be with older women then it wouldn't work.

Really? I think men are less ageist than women when it comes to dating. Men generally don't care about age as long as you're not to much older or too much younger than them, whereas women strictly tend to prefer older men or men around the same age as them.

I know lots of women, and they make more than their partners/husbands. The ones who are single and not looking for serious relationships do date younger men, and as OP said it's for "pleasure, attention and fun", they don't care how capable they are if that's all they're looking for.

It isn't just about money and success though, most women I know are just more attracted older men than younger men. It has nothing to do with how much money they have or their education or how successful their career is. I don't see that reversing just because women are becoming more successful on average than they used to be.

20s, 30s and 40s. It seems almost universal in my experience. Obviously there are exceptions and even the women I know who have/are dating a younger man don't actually have a preference for younger men, it's more of an anomoly for them.

I think you're overstating the degree of these effects and ignoring the fact that it's increasingly difficult to make a go of things on one income. So women still need men for "provision" just as much as the man needs the woman for "provision." More importantly, you're missing that women don't date older men for money. They date older men because they think they're mature and perceive a certain type of protection and stability that comes from a man like that.

I just don't think this is true. There are absolutely some women who are into younger guys, but generally speaking, women want mature men because relationships are not primarily about sex for us. I'm 33 and the idea of dating anyone even age 25 is gross to me. They are not emotionally or mentally mature enough. They don't have the life experience to meet me halfway in a relationship.
