I don't like thunderstorms, and it drives me nuts how many people think they're nice or relaxing. amirite?

I think people who say that are imagining their ideal day at home being cozy and enjoying the storm, not out running errands and doing other life things.

I enjoy the house shaking, window rattling thunder, and awesome lightning show of a ferocious storm. My wife hates it, but I get a rush out of it.
I wouldn't call it "relaxing" but there's something about the raw power that's awe inspiring. They don't typically have the destruction associated with tornadoes or hurricanes. The destruction and loss of life I can do without, but the sound and light show is, to me, amazing.

"Drives me nuts" was the response a pirate had when I asked him why he had a steering wheel down his pants.

It hasn't rained here in almost a month so I'm pretty thankful for the storm rolling through right now! But yes I agree for the most part. I want to love storms but it's hard with animals. A tree almost always ends up falling on my fence or at the least leaves branches everywhere, and my one dog is scared to death of the thunder. I can understand the relaxing appeal to some people but for me the storms usually leave me with a huge mess to clean up.

I dislike thunderstorms because of lightning. My plabts arent an issue i can bring them inside. As a kid my childhood home was short of destroyed by a lightning strike.. ive gotten a bit better but if im alone or if storms happen at night I really get bad( my house was struck at night time)... i get jumpy, my heart rate jumps to almost 100bpm untill it weather calms. During riding out hurricane ian i think my heart rate didnt drop below 98 or 99 for quite a few hours....i was so panicked... tornados from hurricanes are scary
