I'd say cities are *stressful*.
I recently moved from a city because it was too noisy, too dirty, too much traffic/crowded and too expensive.
Some people would say that's just a city.
Maybe so but it had gotten much more so during the decades I lived there, and as I had other options, I took them.

I don't think this opinion is that unpopular. It might just, as you said, that you're around a crowd in which it's unpopular. Young people who attend college in a city are far, far more likely to have positive views on cities than the average person.
Personally, I would never (again) live in a major city.

How much of this is based on right wing propoganda and confirmation bias?

And there's the guy making it political.

Do you live in America or another country? If you live in America, then I agree with you. Otherwise, it's debatable.

Entirely dependent on what cities you go to, not all cities are like this but now more and more cities are becoming like this.

Being from the UK I wouldn't say they are depressing. Well I would for most cases but not all. But I will say they are way too overcrowded and busy. I come from a little welsh town and was raised in a small welsh village and I couldn't live in a city if someone paid me
