I did think the show was funny when I watched it as a kid so I'll always have a soft spot for it, but the "le random" humor definitely hasn't aged that well. Also yeah I know adults who praise the "dark story" and "philosophical, intellectual themes." I'm like, cmon now…

Its millennial garbage making stuff from the 1980s into something mythical and legendary since they missed the majority of it if they were born before 12/31/89 at all. The simple animations and color palette scream 1980s kids' books and cartoons to me, since I was born in 1980 and got to see stuff like Rainbow Brite, Care Bears, Smurfs, Snorks (basically Smurfs but underwater) and many others the first time around.
