There are studies that support the idea that it lessens the impression of intelligence, and studies that support the idea that using expletives is a sign of higher intelligence. Interesting dichotomy.

My favorite form of insults are the one without swear words. It is rare but it is so satisfying when done right.

Yeah because when you don't use swear words, it's a pure insult. Swear words just make it seem like your angry at them but when you don't use them it feels much more personal and hits them harder

For me I often use it in place of "uhm" which sounds much dumber IMO
