+159 City street grid designs make a city aesthetically dull and monotonous. amirite?

As someone who worked emergencies in the past, grid system is optimal. Saves minutes when buildings only takes seconds to go up in flames. Nothing worse than speeding lights and sirens in a 30 ton truck through a damn maze of a city.

One thing you completely ignore is how much easier rerouting is in a grid system. Without a grid system, anytime you make a wrong turn or if a road is impassable for some reason, rerouting traffic is not always easy or possible.
