Unless these people are preparing the bride or groom for their launch as a candidate for public office, there should just be two speeches maximum: bride & groom. Any more than that and the wedding just becomes performance theatre for other people.

Went to a wedding where they planned it out so a bunch of people would do the speeches before giving anyone food. It was terrible. We were all sitting there until 8pm before we got any food.

My best friend's wedding, it was just me (the MOH) & the best man doing speeches. I kept mine short & sweet…. Which was literally a 5-6 sentence paragraph lol Not miles long like some members in the party do it
