Friendly reminder that the "killer shelters" are often run by the government, and forced to accept \*every\* animal that comes in. Meaning they frequently reach capacity and have to make room. And then people talk about defunding them, meaning they have less room, and...well, you get the idea.

My local one is really good, though I'm sure a lot of them are not. They rarely EVER kill an animal, unless it's very sick or incurably aggressive. If someone brings an animal back, they will still try to place it with another owner. They had a little deaf pitbull who kept attacking other dogs. But they wouldn't give up on her, and she finally found a permanent home.

Do the resamearch, ASPCA and others pay high dollars for exec, and put down animals like its a favorite past time event
