+155 Don't shine your brights at cars that have their brights on. amirite?

by Anonymous 8 months ago

The ONLY reason I dont think this is a good idea is because some cars just have obnoxiously bright headlights and you do this, then their real high beams come on and its like you're watching Oppenheimer in 8k.

What happens when the truck ahead of me turns on their flood lights🥲

by Anonymous 9 months ago

Can I just run into them so thar their brights get turned off?

by Anonymous 9 months ago

That's the suggested way in West Virginia

A quick flash lets them know they need to turn their brights off. It's safer than letting them blind every oncoming driver.

even then, many people immediately go the "asshole, im not doing anything wrong" even tho theyre blind to their own dash board. Same thing with people who dont have their lights on at night or bad weather

by Anonymous 9 months ago

No, just mind your own business. Your 'quick flash' is just annoying.

by Anonymous 9 months ago

Nope. If you're driving with your brights on in the middle of town, you need to be aware before you blind someone and cause a crash. Me flashing my brights for .001 seconds is not going to blind anyone. But shining it in the face of oncoming traffic might. And as someone who drives a sedan at a normal height to the ground (do they still make those): if you install aftermarket headlights in your SUV/van/truck and don't aim the beam where it's supposed to be, you need to take a long walk on a short pier.

What about a quick flash?

As long as you're in a trench coast

by Anonymous 9 months ago

What if I'm 3 children in a trench coat pretending to be a business man?

by Anonymous 9 months ago

It's official in my book

I usually flash my low beams off. It's equally effective and it's safer. But what you're missing is the real a-hole in the situation; the person driving around with their high beams always on. Somehow we have enough police to sit and give speeding tickets which usually isn't that dangerous but blinding ever single driver is okay and warrants absolutely no enforcement.

by Anonymous 9 months ago

I never implied the person driving with brights on wasn't an asshole

Ur wrong I think

by Anonymous 9 months ago

I'm too busy flashing my lights at the chick in front of me soul deep in a text convo, with the bumper sticker that says "tell your dog I said hi"

by Anonymous 9 months ago

Tf are brights? They're called high beams

by Anonymous 9 months ago

Sounds like someone who always has their brights on.

Aren't there road rules specifically to do with lowering lights within x distance of cars and using specific lights in specific situations? Or just not in America?
