+151 Contrary to video games, most people fighting in real life don't jump at all in any fight. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Because people in real life can't jump 6 to 10 feet off the ground and then change their direction into a specialized kick or punch...

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I mean i bet some people could do it...just not a lot of them..

by Anonymous 1 year ago

A few martial artists do or did. Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee to name a couple. Of course these ones are considered prime of the prime, but still..

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Lol

I'm not a big FPS gamer, but I sometimes played with my friends. This kind of thing drove me insane. I'll never understand why devs don't nerf jumping. I don't need my game to be hyper realistic, but I also don't think incentivizing players to constantly jump and spin like they're pro Pogo stick afficionados is good game design.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I do butt spin leg sweeps at my opponents' ankles, forcing them to hop like little bunnies, it terrifies and belittles them

by Anonymous 1 year ago

And nobody kneels down and does low knee kicks to the feet of the opponent until the opponent dies from it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Compared to video games people really suck at jumping in general.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yes

by Anonymous 1 year ago

psh. that just means they wont be expecting it!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

The secret is that you need to jump pretty high to surprise them.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

contrary to real life, fighting games dont target the crotch (exclusively) even though it's the most effective part to hit

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Johnny Cage: "Am I a joke to you?*

by Anonymous 1 year ago

pffft.....yeah.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I don't think targeting the crotch exclusively in real fight is a good strategy

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You clearly leave your crotch undefended

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yet still, nobody goes for it

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You clearly haven't fought me. I wasn't called the crotch kicker for nothing.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Finally, someone willing to touch me

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's hilarious. Never speak to me again

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Better than a jock strap.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Don't remind of the Jock Strap incident

by Anonymous 1 year ago

The ole dick twist

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I wear a concealed steel codpiece, his advice is good for that exact reason

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Crotch shots are painful but not debilitating. Someone tough or hopped up on adrenaline can and will ignore low blows. Better to aim for the head. Lots of soft spots, eyes (!), ears, nose, lips. Concussion will put someone down.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Indeed. In a fight for your life type of fight you more so risk flooding your opponent with more adrenaline. I was more so taught go for the throat than the head

by Anonymous 1 year ago

remember the jaw is a knokout switch(thats where glass jaw comes from)

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Imagine if vidya games highlighted the obvious weakspot of the cockenballs

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Dang it Bobby!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Johnny cage has entered the chat

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Is Johnny Cage a joke to you?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I feel like most crouching light punches are groin punches.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Then you have guys in the ufc like michel pereira doing actual back flips during fights

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I'm gonna do one in my next fight... just for you

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Record it !

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I'm not gonna be a vloger... fights happen spontanius

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Really? I got jumped the other day.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Those dudes were jumped up, too

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Contrary to video games, most people ~~fighting~~ in real life don't jump at all ~~in any fight~~.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's fair. As a 42 year old man, I honestly can't remember the last time I jumped. I played basketball \~2 years ago for the first time in a while...and I'm sure I jumped then. But in day to day or month to month goings on, yeah...I don't jump very much.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's kind of crazy to me, even if i know it's true. I play soccer, so im jumping at least a few times a game. And when i walk my dog to the creek i jump across the rocks and over fallen trees. I just cant imagine a life with no jumping in it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Attempting 360 no-scopes are also frowned upon I believe.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

When we go elk hunting, I always give my buddies crap because they have to hard scope elks. Such noobs. If I don't pull a full 360 no scope on the elk, I donate the meat to other people and don't even keep any for myself.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

99/100 a dodge roll is a terrible idea in a fight. That might drop to 95/100 if you are some gymnastic god.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Impossible! Next you'll tell me that real terrorists and counter-terrorists never jump and shoot.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Jumping+light kick cross up during a UFC match would be insane

by Anonymous 1 year ago

My anti airs are on point i wish they'd jump at me

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Why can't we air juggle opponents in real life?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Because they'll get Shoryukened, duh!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If I had a launching NJP, you'd better believe I would jump in every fight.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I can't remember the last time I jumped

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Do it now.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's how you get a double Achilles tear

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I made it uninjured

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You're gonna be sore in the morning

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Oh God The pain I can't get up

by Anonymous 1 year ago

that was luck... be more carefull next time

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Ok! Just a tiny hop....don't want to risk waking the house

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It can in a taekwondo fight, but usually just exhibtions

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Will greatly increase your KO chances though. Not sure why it is not more frequently used Source: Am a Street Fighter.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's the hadouken spam you gotta watch out for.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

They don't low kick either

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yes. Video game characters can usually control their trajectory in the air in ways that real people can't. IF a real person jumps in a fight, their opponent knows exactly where they're going, and there's nothing they can do to change that.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You'll be surprised to know people can't suddenly invert momentum and missile into a drop kick that makes a colorful shockwave

by Anonymous 1 year ago

People irl dont have infinite stamina either, or they would

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Most people that are experienced in fighting games, don't tend to jump much either.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Excuse me I use and oversized key to launch my opponent into the air and keep hitting them for 10 seconds as I float there

by Anonymous 1 year ago
