+140 Have you ever reheated french fries and enjoyed them? No matter what you do to them they all have that same dry quality. Maybe french fries have an unstable existence, and the end goal is to just not. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Very hot oven very short time and they won't dry out.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I go for 350F degree, 6-7min. Best reheated fries I've ever had

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer 400F like 2-3 mins. Optional: Microwave them with a damp paper towel for like 30 seconds 1st just to get them to room temp.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Damn.. If I could afford an air fryer my life could save 3min..

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Time savings is not the main feature, it's the way they heat the food. They're just small convection ovens, and the air flow allows the surface of the food to heat very quickly, making it extra crispy. It works best for any food that's typically deep-fried. As a bonus, it can save time and calories. You can get find them cheap at thrift stores- we got ours for free from a friend who bought a bigger one.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

You also don't have to preheat the air fryer They are often sold for a good price at Costco

by Anonymous 1 year ago

They are not expensive though??

by Anonymous 1 year ago

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Broiler 1500°F, 30 seconds

Now we're cooking

Confucius says: Light fire for man, keep him warm for a day. Light man on fire, keep him warm for rest of life.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I give them an extra spray of cooking spray before popping them in the hot oven to add some fresh oil to them, then sprinkle Chicken Salt on them as soon as they come out. Doesn't matter what type of fries, always turn out great (not as good as fresh, but not that far off).

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Come here to say this, oven for less than 10 mins. Also don't put them in fridge first.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer is a game changer for reheating fries

by Anonymous 1 year ago

And fried chicken

> Unstable existence Getting existential about French fries

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Fry think, therefore fry am.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

What does it mean, really, to BE a french fry?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If not a fry, am I really French.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Do you own cooking spray and an air fryer? Sometimes they can come out better than originally.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

They have little refillable sprayers. You can put a little garlic in the oil. Or any fine grind spice. Better than garlic salt

by Anonymous 1 year ago

That's a good hack I like the sound of

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer is the way

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I learned to add several drops of water to whatever i reheat in the nuke box. I totally makes a massive difference.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This, or if it's a food where you don't want to directly wet a portion, lay a damp paper towel over it then microwave.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Shot glass full of water in the corner works as well

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Pan, oil quick refry.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Using a toaster oven or air fryer with some water: challenge level impossible. I've made many MANY fries significantly better with these hidden techniques.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This is why I love my air fryer—I can finally reheat french fries and not be disappointed

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Came to say this. I can finally have leftover fries and not gag.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I chop them up and fry them into hash browns!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Airfryer knocks at the door...

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Absolutely. Don't use a microwave. Take the time and lay them out on a oven tray and cook them just till they are warm again. Or even better if you have a deep fryer at home warm it up and dunk them in for literally about 1 minute and they will taste almost as good as they did fresh

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I find cutting up your own potatoes for fries turn out just fine when reheated in the microwave

Air fryer fries are good

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Reheated french fries were only terrible when people microwaved them. They're not amazing in the oven but the air fryer? They're fantastic. Sometimes better than the first time because they seem even fresher.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer. The microwave just can't do it

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer 400 for 4 minutes

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer. Otherwise get a pack of Bisto and make a poutine-like dish with bisto and cheese in the microwave. Delicious, and the gravy keeps the fries from drying out.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Couple minutes in the air fryer seems to do the trick. COVID taught me this cause doordash was used all the time back then.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryers were invented to resurrect french fries.... we use it even on fresh ones if they aren't crispy enough.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer works wonders for me

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fry can make soggy fries become amazing

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air-frying soft/soggy fries are always a hit!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer is hella where it's at

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer at like 275 degrees.5 minutes at low temp, it's pretty perfect.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer 3-5 min depending on how much you got

by Anonymous 1 year ago

The best way

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Try an air fryer. Game changer for reheating fries.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I find they're not as dry as they are...clumpy. I tend to just eat cold fries, they're not as horrible as reheated, to me.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

350f for 4 minutes in my airfryer with a small glass bowl of water in the centre. The water evaporates and moisturizes the fries while reheating them.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I find giving them a quick pan fry with a cover does the trick.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

reheated fries are doable. I know this sounds weird, but hear me out: Waffle iron. Fries reheated with a waffle iron are amazing. I sometimes even like them better that way.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

French fries can't be reheated but chips can (no, they're not the same thing) Reheated chips taste even better. NB this only works if they're fried and only really if it's in fat..

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Isn't chips just what the British call French fries?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Get the oven hot - maybe 425F, 450F. Put the fries in the microwave for just 30 seconds or so. Gives them a jump start without making them rubbery or mushy. Then put them in the oven for a few minutes. Maybe 5 minutes, don't go nuts or they'll dry out. If you have an air fryer, this is a good way to reheat as well. I've had luck taking the fries out of the fridge for an hour or so and putting them in the air fryer for a few minutes. This gets them more crispy than the oven would. Protip: a little spritz of garlic oil and salt (if not already salted) on them before heating them up gives them a little more (awesome, IMO) flavor as well as a little crispiness.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

rice cookers will rehydrate the fries too

by Anonymous 1 year ago

air fry them or reheat in the oven. microwaving will literally always make them crappy

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Toaster oven and Air fryer are your friends

by Anonymous 1 year ago

air fryer, oven, or pan are better. However, if those are not an option and you have to microwave, adding a cup full of water on the side helps.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Heat up a non stick skillet and shuffle them around in there for a few minutes. Wakes them back up…

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer orrr hot dry pan

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Pizzazz. 6-8 minutes. Thank me later.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Toaster oven or air fryer.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Toaster oven or Air Fryer is the only way to go with french fries. Microwaves will guarantee you dried out starchy fries.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I always eat my fries first, because they never reheat to the same level of satisfaction as when originally cooked.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Waffle iron!! Nice and crunchy

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Just pan fry them real quick. Amazing.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Fry in a pan with oil, crack egg over and cook till sunny side up. Add shredded or crumbled cheddar cheese and hot sauce.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If you're leaving leftover french fries, you're doing something wrong.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Fry them in a frying pan with a little water? Works for pizza.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Get 'em damp and then reheat them. Also works with dry bread

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yes I have. I find reheating them somewhat gets rid of some dry from them, not all.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I have the opposite problem, they get too soggy when they cool down and remain soggy when I reheat them.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Really, we're all French fries in the grand scheme of things.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Such inconsistent advice with what I've experienced lol I guess just throw em in an air fryer and go to town! Something has to work

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer superiority

by Anonymous 1 year ago

there's a type of frozen fries that are good reheated if you eat them with salt and vinegar. idk which ones though sorry! probably a canadian brand anyway.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer is my go to for reheating fries or fried chicken.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer for 3-5 minutes

by Anonymous 1 year ago

yes but not in the microwave

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Air fryer! Air fryer! Air fryer! They are black magic for bringing otherwise depressing leftovers back to life. My secret for fries and pizza (which i always prefered cold untill the air fryer!
