I'm pretty sure it did and might still have it. You can click on people's names and see their "profile" or channel page or whatever it's called. I'm pretty sure there is a way to message them through it.

it HAD a dm feature, they took that down and honestly, considering that YT shouldn't be the last circlejerk (and it already is) and it's fairly scrambled with the users (and that's a good thing), people would use it only to threaten each other, better making it as little as possible a social network
