I also didn't earn the warmth of the sun, the smell of the grass after it rains, or the sounds of birds chirping in my yard. Are those worthless? Why do we have to earn something for it to have value?

The word of choice for things like this, as you might already be aware, is *priceless*. But yeah. OP seems to have conflated one word for the other. All of those things carry an immense amount of worth - you just can't easily define it.

Children don't earn love from their parents. In fact if loved has to be earned then there is little of love about it. As far as worth it concerned, I think such love is worth more than anything.

Worthless and priceless are similar, yet very different ideas.

Conditional love has no worth because what is that? That's not love, that's a transactional quid pro quo relationship.

Imagine a kid turns to his loving parents and tell them they're worthless because the only thing they do is loving him. Major comicbook villain vibe going on there.

Never said the parents were worthless. Providing care has worth. If a parent were to provide no care other than love then that would be neglect.

On the contrary, I would think having some unconditional love would be very useful to a lot of people.

Unconditional love is the best love, and is really the only true form of love, as it is given freely as a gift with no expectation of return. It's not worthless but invaluable.

Noooooo way, man. Unconditional love is by far the most valuable, because it has no boundaries. No limits. You cannot piss it off enough to go away. I happen to believe in God, and I'd suggest that He's the only person with actual unconditional love. But family tends to come closest.
