Just sit to pee. That's the equivalent. If you need to change the way the toilet is to use it, then you should put it back. It shouldn't be my job to touch the gross seat to put it back after you've inevitably splashed pee all over it.

Speaking as a man…no, it's never ok and it has nothing to do with feminism or equal rights. Toilets are breeding grounds for germs and are often dirty. Even myth busters did an experiment one time and flushing with the toilet open blasts germs further than you'd think due to the pressure or the water that blasts out when you flush. So while you are being lazy and gross for no real reason, you are also likely differing your bathroom with toilet germs and bacteria.

I am a gay man, never lived with a woman other than my mom who I never shared a bathroom with. I always put the seat and the lid down after every use like every person, man or woman, should do. If you're not putting it down, you're actually just disgusting. Everyone should be doing equal work because everyone should be putting up the lid and putting it back down every time.

No, simply because it's unhygienic. No other reason matters in this scenario. YOU SHOULD PUT THE LID DOWN WHEN FLUSHING otherwise you are spreading more bacteria than you need around the bathroom.

Not really. When you pee, you don't see it but pee particles spread out even though you might have a solid, center mass stream. You get little pee that goes everywhere

I mean, guys also need the toilet seat down some of the time. In a house with equal numbers of people who stand to pee and people who sit, the toilet seat will need to be down more than up. So it makes sense for it to be down. Also, everybody should be closing the lid before they flush anyway, because it reduces the amount of fecal matter that is sprayed around the bathroom

The difference is women have to sit down on the toilet to pee, and they have to face the other way so they don't always see when the seat is up. Feeling your ass slide into the toilet when you don't expect it and/or feeling the toilet water on your cheeks is the worst freaking thing. Putting the seat up to pee is annoying at most, having your bare ass fall into a literal toilet is dreadful.
