If you're over 30 and celebrate your birthday more than once…, amirite?

"I don't think other people should have fun." How exactly does people having a birthday week or a birthday month harm anyone in anyway?

I used to feel this way, but when I started dating my wife she would (and still does) extra celebrate me for about a total of 13 days, six days before and after my birthday. I hated every second of it the first year, and then the second year I started to really enjoy it. Now, I celebrate myself. I treat myself. My wife treats me. We plan renting a sports car every year, a nice hotel for a day or two, various meals, and just fun to add to the celebration. I used to believe it was being self-centered, but now I see it as healthy self-esteem. Self-esteem is your reputation with yourself, and if it is healthy and thriving, you do what you can to enjoy the benefits of being you.

I am sorry that noone would come to your parties.
by Anonymous1 year ago
Probably, you couldn't afford to celebrate right?
by Anonymous1 year ago
So we're you not invited to a birthday or did no one show up for yours?

It's peak narcissism. One night for dinner and drinks is fine. Anything more than that and I'm questioning our friendship
by Anonymous1 year ago
Yeah no, I'm celebrating rather if you like it or not.

Troll?

I don't personally do that, but I'd be totally cool with having friends that do. I'm social and look for any excuse to party.

What is the difference between that and say going on vacation the week of your bday? Which is a relatively common thing people do. How people choose to spend time and enjoy themselves shouldn't concern anybody else besides maybe those close to them.
