-3 Malls and movie theatres need to make a comeback, amirite?

People have been saying this for a decade. Everyone saw this coming. The pandemic accelerated a process that was well under way. Getting anyone to act on it is another matter entirely.

No, shopping on amazon > shopping at the local mall. Unless you need clothes there is zero reason to shop at the mall.

Yet selection is much better online.

Why? Other than nostalgia, you really didn't give any reasons. I enjoy going to the movies. But unlike back in the day when I could catch a matinee for 5 bucks, a movie venture involves driving 30 mins. Paying $10 for parking. $15 for the ticket, another $20 for snacks, to go sit in a theater where the temperature is never really right, hoping that the sound system is set right, and some asshat isn't talking/on their phone the entire movie. For the price of one ticket, I can watch many movies, in the comfort of my own home, with my own snacks, pause it if I need to go to the bathroom, and have practically the same experience. I hit the theaters for movies I really want to see, but for smaller, intimate films, I prefer to watch at home so I really can be immersed in them.
