+48 I absolutely hate Axl Rose's voice. amirite?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

This is actually a fairly popular opinion

by Anonymous 1 year ago

should be

by Ngutkowski 1 year ago

Have you tried listening to Velvet Revolver. Basically the imusicians of gnr with a different singer

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Slither is an incredible song.

by Zarialarkin 1 year ago

Guns and Roses merged with STP 🤣

This is the nightmare song lyric you have to guess on hells version of wheel of fortune.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yup, came here to say this. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators for non-GNR songs featuring members of GNR. Slash w/ Myles Kennedy for the group doing GNR songs Also try Velvet Revolver for GNR members with Scott from Stone Temple Pilots. All better options than listening to Axl Rose.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Can't put it better myself. He's creaking like a door. There's so many good bands with excellent music and horrible vocals (not the singing ability, the voice itself).

by Jettiethiel 1 year ago

Shalalalalalalalalalala

by Anonymous 1 year ago

He really has 2 voices, low and high. They're very very different, low is much better.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Yeah, that's part of the reason why Mr. Brownstone is by far my favorite GNR song. Axel sounds way better when he's singing in a lower range

by No_Calligrapher1006 1 year ago

Hahaha agreed, he sounds like an old lady

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Is that the Bakery City guy?

by ChartMassive8893 1 year ago

me too

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I feel the same way about Billy Talent, it's a shame because otherwise I think I might enjoy them.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hmm, I never considered this comparison. I hate Axl but love Billy Talent.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

not necessarily comparing the two as vocalists, really just saying I can't listen to Billy Talent because I can't stand his voice. I like their themes, songwriting and they are certainly tight musically but that voice just puts me off every time.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Hair metal is one of my favorites but yeah Axl's voice is brutal. High pitched singing is fine but his is so screechy and it just turns me off of enjoying their music.

by Elta61 1 year ago

really? i've voiced this opinion a few times and people always agree. he has a gnarly voice.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Same here, it is like nails on a chalkboard

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Which one?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I made the mistake of watching them live recently. He sounded atrocious.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Axl Ro-oo-ose

by Stokeshubert 1 year ago

A bit whiny, no?

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Please end every verse with Aiyee-aiii...

by Ffranecki 1 year ago

Imagine jamming out to funky town with your friends, when you suddenly hear Axl Rose star singing 💀

by Anonymous 1 year ago

AC/DC is worse. I gotta turn off the radio or change stations I just can't listen to Hells Bells ever again.

by wanda47 1 year ago

i love his 87-95 voice. i have zero interest in whatever revival they have cooking. tbf before that I grew up on Dio and Rush etc. before GnR came out.

by Reasonable-Ship8684 1 year ago

I saw them at the powertrip festival in california and like half the crowd left before they finished cause axl sounded so bad

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Me too bro

by EveningWeird4653 1 year ago

Me too. Could never get into the band because of it.

by Electronic-Serve 1 year ago

I don't care if this opinion is popular or not, I disagree with it, and I think's a fair opinion. So I approve!

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators is the better band.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's a bad voice. You should hate it.

by Spencer70 1 year ago

Have the same issue with Britney Spears. They sound… compressed

by First-Button-7407 1 year ago

Same

by Few_Journalist4293 1 year ago

I get that. I enjoy Smashing Pumpkins but i wouldn't say Billy Corgan has a great voice. But he has one that works for that music. Same with Axel.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Unpopular opinion: I like his voice.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I don't, I think he was phenomenal in his prime - but I can totally understand how someone might hate it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Those studio recordings are some of the best rock out there. But listen to him sing like even semi-recently and it hurts my ears, but I think that way for like 90% of music. A lot of musicians don't sound as good live outside of perfect conditions

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Well he is old now, no one can belt it out at that age like they were 20 something... His live stuff with AC/DC was great though

by Anonymous 1 year ago

For real. The raw emotion he conveyed- FFS, have you heard November Rain? I'll take him over singers like Christina Aguilera any day. For one, she sounds like a goose honking. But also, I never feel any emotion to her songs- they're just vessels to show off her range. So many singers like her and I can't stand it.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

These people hating never heard November Rain. They never heard Nighttrain...Mr.Brownstone.

by AcanthisittaNo1247 1 year ago

Why compare a pop singer to a rock singer? If you're inclined to enjoy rock more then it should be pretty obvious, you wouldn't enjoy pop vocals as much. and jesus christ get with the times. Aguilera is irrelevant in the year of 2024.

by Ngutkowski 1 year ago

Took me a long time to see how great they were because of that voice.

by Popular-Ice 1 year ago

If that's the case then who is the best?

by legrosismael 1 year ago

There are a lot of bests.. across many genres! I just can't stand light, poppy metal with wailing singing. Not really a metal fan but Guns and Roses are one of my least favourite.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Whining is the only way to describe it. I loathe them in general.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

It's why I barely like any Eminem song: some voices are simply grating, and the sound engineers are not doing their jobs and paring them with mics/EQ that take the edge off.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

If you don't like his voice...refrain from listening to his music!

by evalyn33 1 year ago

That's what I do. Although occasionally I accidentally hear a snippet from somewhere and that's bad enough. 🙉

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Even in the cold november rain?

by evalyn33 1 year ago

I felt the same but eventually it grew on me.. I always felt the same way with Ozzy Osbournes voice...

by Anonymous 1 year ago

I hear you. I feel the same way about Dave Mustaine. Great guitarist though...

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Growing up I was a big guns and roses fan and my dad trying to connect with me use to say it reminded him of Robert plant of Led Zeppelin and it only drove us further apart

by dibbertbrannon 1 year ago

Then I wonder what you think of Lemmy Kilmister's voice lol.

by SignExcellent 1 year ago

It's completely different? I'm with OP, Axl's sucks. Lemmy's rocks. Weird question.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

Lemmy was awesome, that said he didn't have a great singing voice at all lol.

by SignExcellent 1 year ago

Still a weird question, his voice is completely different from Axl's.

by Anonymous 1 year ago

One sounds like preteen and the other sounds like a grown ass man

by oankunding 1 year ago

Dead man

by Anonymous 1 year ago

How about GnR are just bad in general
