Suicidal people view of the world is the most accurate, amirite?
by Anonymous1 month ago
The only one out of these that's actually true is ‘were all going to die anyway'. There are people who care, you just gotta learn who to trust

We all mostly care about ourselves. How much are you willing to care about someone else? How far would you go? You only care about them when they mean something to you, you care about how they make you feel, you care about yourself.

I definitely care more about people who mean something to me, usually because they're offering to care about me in return. But I still care enough about strangers to shout at them if a train is about to hit them, for example.

Nah man it sends ripples throughout entire communities. It traumatizes the people you know and especially the people that find the body. In the last moments the body panics because our sole instinct is to survive, it's not a solution to anything. It's treatable but you have to want help instead of the selfish decision to harm yourself. You don't have to get through it alone.

It's called depressive realism. It's accurate, but there are others spins which are also technically accurate, and dwelling on the most negative spin is not helpful or healthy.

I'm sorry for your loss.

I hate to be a cynic but I'm starting to believe this. That being said, there are a few people in this world whose very existence makes me feel like the world isn't all bad. There's a few people whose simple existence keep me hanging on. One of these people happens to also struggle with mental health. I don't know if he realizes that he's all the hope I have in this world.

I also wanted to add that I wonder if we overplay "they're in a better place" to make ourselves feel better. Maybe the world does suck, but what if it's our only opportunity to feel anything… and once we die… that's it. Instead of going to a better place, we cease to have the ability to do anything ever again . Which is equally depressing

No this is a very wrong mindset!

You can choose to have a better mindset, but the reality will remain the same. Sucidal people in recovery probably just learned to accept reality for what it really is and still be willing to live through it.

I agree with the second part. Though, about the no one cares part, really depends on the person itself. Me personally, I know that other people will care. However, it's when I don't care about myself that the problem arises. The mindset really isn't about no one cares about you, it's about you don't care about yourself.

Amen. And the only reason why ppl dont want u to kill urself is cuz they dnt want to deal with the aftermath. More selfish reasons

Absolutely not the case. Pessimistic realism is merely the easiest realism to grasp, practice the art of optimistic realism.

No way. Depression makes you very wrong about many things.
