It's an evolved instinct. Some spiders have poisonous bites that can hurt or kill you. Any ancestors that were afraid of spiders were more likely to survive and reproduce than those that weren't afraid of spiders. Fast forward a thousand generations and here we are descended from the afraid of spiders ancestors that out-bred the competition. Crabs are much less lethal, so there has been less evolutionary pressure in favour of developing a fear of them. TLDR: it's because being afraid of crabs or not is less likely to affect how many kids you survive to have.

I'm actually more frightened of crabs. A close-up look of their mouths is pure terror.
