Movie theaters should encourage people to (respectfully) cheer at openings, amirite?

Yeah this is unpopular alright. I absolutely do NOT go to movie theatres for a sense of community, I go to enjoy the massive screen and ear bursting surround sound and reclining seats. I would much prefer if the people around me would be as quiet as reasonably possible, than to encourage them to scream at the moving picture.

So die hard fans want to react more than watch the movie? If I was a diehard fan I'd want to hear everything going on in the movie, not hear cheers when a character is on screen

Ive been to pre-screenings and would have been pissed if people were making a lot of noise. I dont go for a sense of community, i go for the screen size and audio experience.

This is a very, very bad take. Bravo. You understood the assignment.

I think people just want something to do and they can't think of anything else.
