Zoos for human entertainment shouldn't exist. Animals should only be in captivity if they cannot live in the wild anymore (injury, etc) where vets/biologists can take care of them.

This is why the distinction between zoos and sanctuaries is important. One is mainly for entertainment while the other is mostly focused on conservation.

Have you ever considered you can do that with very minimal suffering? Like yea a lion would probably be happier in the wild, but it by no means has to suffer while in a zoo.
